HOW IS BUSK FOR A CURE
HELPING PEOPLE?

CANCER
COUNCIL

"Busk for a cure is a quirky and unique concept which helps fundraise for cancer research at a grassroots level. Cancer Council NSW is 96% community funded and we wouldn't be able to do the work we do to try and defeat cancer without support from generous individuals who host amazing fundraising events like Busk For a Cure.”

Crystal Huynh, Cancer Council
Community Engagement Coordinator

CROHNS &
COLITIS

“There is still not much known about IBD in the general public and IBD su erers are burdened with a constant and often hidden struggle that a ects their personal, social and work life. Although there is not yet a cure, early diagnosis and treatment can greatly improve the lives of those with IBD as well as reduce the need for surgery and hospitalisations. We are thrilled to have the support of people like Helmut and his fundraising team and we hope everyone in the community gets behind this wonderful fundraising initiative.”

Francesca Manglaviti,
CEO of Crohn’s & Colitis Australia

SYDNEY
COMMUNITY

“The energy from last year's event was brilliant; particularly the musical side, and how it was presented. The fact that Helmut has pulled in so many different people, from so many different areas is really what made the event.”
-
Jacqui, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre

YOUTH
EDUCATION

“My name is Rebecca Nguyen and I joined Busk for a Cure in 2015 in preparation for Busk for a Cure 2016. I was given the opportunity to be involved in the planning process at an Event Coordinator capacity. This allowed me to demonstrate my knowledge in a practical way. Busk for a Cure helped me developed my skills in Event Management, which I believed helped me get my first Full Time job in the Event Industry. I was exposed to stage management and audio visual equipment which are the skills and knowledge I require for the current position I am currently in. Having the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people from different creative industries, I was able to learn and network with different industry professionals.” -
